The quality of postgraduate training by Professor Xin-Ying Ji Team
reaches a higher stage of development.
In May 2018, the paper "Pest-containing nuclear protein mediates the proliferation, migration, and invasion of human neuroblastoma" were formally received by a well-known journal in the field of cancer research, BMC Cancer, which shows that this research achievement has been internationally recognized. It is the first paper in the field of PCNP gene function research and is also one of the few PCNP papers. In the research, the research team discovered the function and mechanism of PCNP in the treatment of tumor. Ms.Ying-Ran Gao (a graduate student of the grade 2015) is co-first author of the paper. The research team also obtained a new breakthrough in the experimental treatment of diaphragmatic dysfunction and his research results “Hydrogen sulfide alleviates lipopolysaccharide-induced diaphragm dysfunction in rats by reducing apoptosis and inflammation through ROS/MAPK and TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathways” were formally received by the SCI journal "Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity" (JCR Zone 2). The research team found that the exogenous H2S can reduce apoptosis and inflammatory response of muscle cells through ROS/MAPK and TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathways, thereby improving diaphragm muscle dysfunction of the rats induced by bacterial endotoxin. Xin-Ying Ji Team attaches great importance to the quality education and comprehensive ability training of postgraduate students and has achieved good results. Since returning to China in 2009, Professor Xin-Ying Ji has supervised 22 graduate students in 9 sessions and affiliated hospitals have trained 6 postgraduates jointly. Part of the postgraduates have obtained doctoral candidates of the universities which obtained the “985 plan” and some of them won the Outstanding Graduate Students Award, Three Good Student Award (good in study, attitude and health) , National Scholarships and HuaZang Scholarships. Professor Xin-Ying Ji also engaged in the research work of postgraduate education and teaching actively, in 2017, he was approved by the first batch of “Henan Province's First Batch of Graduate Education and Teaching Reform Research and Practice Project” which was "The Construction of the Cultivation System of Basic Medical Graduate Students". At the same time, he also served as a tutor of Undergraduate Tutorial System, trained undergraduate students' interests in scientific research and selected quality students. In 2017, his research team took the lead in recruiting 2 doctoral students in Pakistan, which realized a new breakthrough in the international cultivation of medical graduate students in our university. It provided a useful exploration for the rapid development of the Henan International Joint Laboratory for Nucleoprotein Gene Regulation and postgraduate cultivation in the School of Medical Sciences
The tutor is the first person responsible for postgraduate training. In the whole process of postgraduate training, the tutor is the main subject that undertakes and realizes the task of training, and thus shouldering major responsibilities. The school has been attaching importance to the leading role and first responsibility of the tutor in postgraduate training, makes clear the responsibility and power of the tutor in the postgraduate training and pays attention to mobilize the enthusiasm of the tutors to education, strives to make constant improvement in the quality of postgraduate training and effectively promote the construction of first-class disciplines of our university through the comprehensive implementation of the "Several Opinions of Henan University on the Comprehensive Promotion of the Comprehensive Reform of Postgraduate Education and Further Improvement of the Quality of Postgraduate Education" (Issued by the School [2015] 201)
