In the afternoon of June 2nd2018, 168 students of Kaifeng Jinming Middle School who were in grade seven，guided by the deputy dean of academic affairsWu Dongkai, the class adviserZhang Yan, and the teacherHu Rui, came to the Department of Human Anatomy of the Schoolof Medical Sciencesof Henu Universityfor aStudy Tour.Considering thelearningcharacteristics ofmiddle school students, professorJin Dongzhu, ProfessorDu Yaowuand ProfessorLiu Zhonghuaexplainedeverything in a tailored and detailed way to the students.
Led bythosewhowere mentioned above, the students firstly looked over the specimen displayed on the corridor of the Anatomy Building and the local anatomy laboratory, whichison the 3rdfloor of the building, and had a closer contact with thebody specimen. During the visit,professorJinintroduced the methods to make human section specimen andtherelating applications.TeacherDuandteacherLiuexplained the mystery of human body structure to the studentsin Layman’s term in a vivid and humorous way.From time to time, the studentswere amazed atnot onlythe people who devoted their bodiesto the medical career, but also the professional knowledge andthespiritwithinthe threeprofessors.
Where-after, the students, led byteacherDu,had a look attheschoolstudents’ works of anatomy "individualdevelopment" teaching interactive project displayed in the building.Closely stayingaroundteacherDu,everyoneshowed great interest in the learning outcomes of their senior schoolmates. All of them listened carefully to teacherDuabout the stories of the works and the professional knowledge behindthem. As the saying goes, ‘there would be no medicine without anatomy’.After visiting the anatomy building, all the students had a deeper understanding of the saying;they mighthave even grasped the idea of what a noble but wordless devotion is.
It is reported that the aim of senior school biological education is to teach students who would hopefully be able to understand the mystery and the nature of the living organism on the earth, especially the ones of the human body. Unfortunately, the study ofthestructure and function of the human body ishindered due to many schools lacking of basic human specimens andotherrelated resources.With thesupport fromthe leaders and university leaders of Henan University,the School of Medical Sciencesis able to obtain a certainamountof specimens bypurchasingwhile guiding students to maketheirown specimens.
A successful attempt was made by Basic Medical School through the tour held this time facing to theseniorstudents inKaifeng, in whichscientific activities were held to reveal the mystery of the human body to the students. It is not onlyhelpful for popularizing medical knowledge and increasing the interest of senior students in studying biology; but also is it showing the outstandingeducationalstrength in medicine ofHenan Universityand furthermore, to offer more services to the community.
